Jewish wedding customs

We are so excited to celebrate with you. In case you've never been to a Jewish wedding before, please scroll down for some information.

What do I need to know?

Wedding customs

We'll be getting married under a Chuppah. Our Rabbi will officiate the wedding and patiently explain what's going on - no need to revise ahead.

There will also be traditional Jewish dancing, followed by a ceilidh provided by a local Scottish band. No prior experience necessary!

Dresscode

Semi-formal wedding attire, but please remember to wrap-up warm. There will be spare kippot for anyone who would like one.

Ladies, please avoid white and light blue. That's not a Jewish thing, just a don't upstage Becca thing. Sis, you must wear that pink again.

Food

Monachyle Mhor's award-winning restaurant is worth the trek alone. If, like Micha, the food is your primary concern, check out their sample menus to whet your appetite (minus the pork and shellfish for the wedding feast).

We'll be producing a wedding order of service booklet with the schedule for the day and more information about the ceremony which will be available for guests at our wedding.

Ahead of the big day, if you'd like to learn more, please email us. No such thing as a silly question!
